How to prepare a handwriting sample

Prepare a sample of your writing by following these instructions:

  • Choose your favorite writing instrument.
  • Write the sample on plain white unlined bonded paper.
  • Write on a smooth surface such as a tabletop. Extra paper may be placed underneath the sample sheet.
  • Sit in a comfortable position.
  • Use a script type of writing. If you prefer to print, include additional samples of your printing.
  • Write in English.
  • Fill the entire sheet. This should be spontaneous, not copied. Describe some recent activity just completed. An analysis requires a minimum of twenty lines.
  • Sign each sample with your signature. If you have more than one type of signature (e.g., personal letter, check, legal, maiden, marriage, stage, etc.), include all of them. If you have more than one style of writing, generate another sample with your signature.

The utilization of the Working Papers is a simple method to evaluate individual traits found in your handwriting. Handwritingpro's Working Papers contain more than 200 character traits and their associated trait identifiers, character descriptions, graphic indicators, and an example of each graphic indicator. The Working Papers are designed for both the novice and the expert to record and rate handwriting traits prior to a personality analysis, thereby providing an objective character trait rating system. A complete analysis for special needs or situations does require an experienced expert to evaluate the inter-reacting and combining affects of the individual behavior traits. Another acceptable option is to email the completed Working Papers with a copy of the written sample to graphology@handwritingpro.com and to postal mail the original written sample. Handwritingpro must examine the original written specimen.

After receiving the writing sample you used and your completed Working Papers, brief comments will typically be made in about a week via email. A copy of your completed Working Papers may be returned via postal mail or email with additional hand written notes and comments. Please feel free to contact Handwritingpro with any questions. If a more comprehensive analysis for your particular circumstance or situation is requested, a fee may be suggested.

  • No correspondence or samples will be returned. They will become the property of Handwritingpro.
  • No third party submissions. This has to be your own handwriting.
  • If the subject in under 18 years of age, the signature of the legal guardian needs to be included.

A systematic self-learning training approach is located on the Example webpage. Handwriting analysis is an efficient method for an objective self-evaluation. No one else needs to be involved. You can conveniently analyze yourself in different periods of your life and evaluate when behavioral changes occurred by identifying the primary traits.
